Prior, it was considered by most to be in reference to the American Traditional or Old School styles of tattooing. You know, the whole Sailor Jerry thing. What we have found of late is that when prospective clients inquire about a vintage tattoo artist, what they are looking for is a tattoo that employs a subtle retro look that works well with subjects that recall a bygone era.
